Realistically I doubt resolution for such small screens will ever go much higher for technical and production costs ( a higher res screen would drive up the cost I'm sure ), and it's also un necessary for something so small to have huge resolutions.

True true, I find 320x240 plenty watchable, so 640x480 would be tops for such a small screen, any finer detail would go unnoticed

Well, The unit can play res up to 640x480 as I mentioned before, But you also have to consider on the quality of the video, Normally video going at around 640x480 resolution will be less pixellated and I believe going at around 29.97 frames per second, I don't know what it's like for something thats 320x240 though.

Seriously, I go for the Creative Zen Vision, With 30GB of HD space on that, And the fact you can easily transfer your mp3s or videos onto it via USB, You can practically put a bunch of full length movies on them.

Screen resolution and frames per second display is far from being an issue.

Isn't USB and/or Firewire file transfer pretty much the standard on all these units? Maybe not in the past but I'm pretty sure it is now.

The thing is, You dont have to do any type of conversion for this player, If you already have a video thats in divx format or whatever, Theres no need to transcode it to a smaller screen size.

question for PSP users.

What is the max memory for this thing, I read it is 1.3 GB, for me I need more to hold than that on the run.

My main concern is will it play the formats I have.

99% of my movies are .avi but in a million different (audio/video codecs), pretty sure thats why divx movies are, thats what the nimo and xvid take care of that so I need to be able to update the codec in these players making sure my movies will work.

In the end I want a player where I can manually update the codec and load in the movies and wallah!

I feel I need an actual Protable OS(not laptop but smaller--> PMP) to load in.

lets see..

1)PSP
2)Create zen
3)ARCHOS $$
4)PMP i-river

out of these 4, which will let me do what I want in bold unless it is impossible.

as long as thse codes(nimo and xvid) are in my computer, 100% I know my movies will work. Thats why I know these players don't come with them but when in these pmp's somehow I will know what player I want.

Dude, Take my advice and go for the Creative Zen Vision, It has a built in 30GB Hard Drive, PSP doesn't, Plus you can hook up the Creative Zen Vision on your PC via a USB connection and it will show up as a drive on your computer to transfer all the mp3s/pics/videos files into there respected folders.

No dude, you listen !!!!

only kidding , errrrr

So when this drive loads, I will load in my nimo, xivd and set it up via Creative Zen drive and after that I will load in my movies and wallah once again. I need to triple check!!

30gb = good enuff for me

maybe I will buy it and test it out, I will find out the return policy to test my method out because I can do that instead of asking over and over. Worst case, return. Best case, keep
