Yeah, quite evidently. I'm familiar with this online sh*t, so I just ignore.

yeah man, you cant afford cd turntables with 300... i'd just go with the vinyl tt's... frontload with like 10 records and then buy a few records a week and you'll b fine...

Don't get into DJing. Industry sucks due to n00bs like AVB and you'll just do lots of drugs, sit in a corner, cry, and kill people when you trainwreck.

Cough...

Real Reason: Too expensive to be able to beatmatch good. .10% CD's will pull off, but not if you want time to have your hands on the mixer. If you have crap turntables, they'll change pitch a lot and fuck with your head.

If you want to go cheap as possible, but BEST possible for $300

Get a E-MU 0404, a cheapie numark mixer, and go on some torrent site and download traktor ...use the dual outputs on the sound card with the external mixer.

Ya, download a DJ program first so that you know if you actually want to invest 300+ on decks, music, etc. I would recommend downloading the demo of MixVibes, its pretty easy to use, especially for a newb.

If you decide that its worth it and want to use CDs, save up a little more for a pair of CDJ-200's. I bought a pair of CDJ-100s, and although I love them, I wouldnt mind the nicer features and higher pitch resolution of the 200s. . You might think that the difference between .1 and .02 isnt much at all... but it is.

For earphones, without any question buy the Sony VDR-V6. They sound great, and are pretty cheap also. They run about $65 USD.

As for a mixer... you can spend anywhere from 100-1000+ on a mixer. Your cheap option would be the behringer vmx-200. It has a lot of features for about 100 bucks, although the sound quality isnt all that great. If I were you, I would save up a lot more money and buy the Pioneer DJM-300. Its a solid product for around $300 usd.

Hope this helped.

DigitalApex sorry for bein an ass in the first post, im not havin a bad day, just fed up of folk not searchin. at least you posted in the right room though which is also unusual for this site!!

if youv only got $300 then i wouldnt say its worth gettin tt's. your better off downloadin some software like they said. i started off on belt-drives when i was 13 and i can safely say its more hassle than what its worth. it was alright back then cos i had no money for anythin else and the software wasnt that widely available the (i dont even know if it was in the shops then), but nowadays if your on a tight budget then software and a mixer is the way to go.

Lately i've been interested in DJing as a new hobby (not too serious yet at least). However, I'm only 16 years old (not a lot of income) and I have no clue where to start, what to buy, how to use what I buy.
When I say i'm a beginner, i'm a beginner. Either way, I could really use some help from you guys, as I've been searching on the internet for DJing forums, but this seems like the most active site so I might as well post here. Although I love trance, I also like other music and would like to include it in my new endeavor, so to speak.
Someone please provide me with any direction you can (what to buy, websites, how hard it is to start).
Thanks!!

im in the EXACT situation and would like to spin , i have a budget of 500-1000$ if i need more i can get it, but thats all i ahve right now. I would like to spin, hardstyle, hardtrance , trance. basically spin the shit like viva

if you have 1000 bucks there is a lot of possibilities... you could go with 2 cdj800's, or a dank ass turntable setup... just read around a little bit and once you find out what you want, shop around for the best prices.

good luck
