I remember at The Palladium on 14th street in the early to mid 1990s having to pass through a metal detector just like the one below...then having the wand metal detector gone over me...and sometimes having to remove my shoes...lol

When a club has to get a metal detector to keep out the riff-raff, that's not a good sign. I wasn't a huge fan of it at Fur in DC, but I understand it's got a hip-hop area (didn't even go near it). It's kind of sad that every hip-hop and latin club in the city makes you deal with that shit.

the shoe removal / pat down / metal scanner / cavity search was standard at the tunnel oh the humiliation of those searches and the silliness of hopping around on one foot...

LOL i remember the hopping on one foot...that was when kids used to carry around ravor blades...sometimes we got the lift the tongue check...cus kids were hiding blades in the their mouths...lol
