So it looks like all you need to make Techno is a drumcomputer.
Trance without the synths and melody would be Techno again?
Example: Safri Duo - Played A Live

Rave: Raver Nature - Stop Scratchin
Rave was perfect for making large crowds wild! Love Parade, Mayday.
It was a substyle out of Techno in the 90's.
It's perfect to blast the roof of a building.
Try to find: Sensation - The anthem 2004 in .mpg
Probably close to Hard Trance nowadays, but a little bit less Trancie.
Old School: Name for the early Hardcore, was very popular in Holland.

Notice the style which is mentioned at this site.
Early work of The Prodigy to my view should be called Techno, but was in development, because they experimented a lot. It's not trance and not really rave, not hardcore.
(No Good, One Love.)
Dance is not a style, allthough at festival like Werchter in Belgium, Roskilde in Danmark and Pinkpop in Holland, bands like Underworld and Chemical Brothers are called Dance.
Rockers of course don't want Techno, House or Rave.
Dance is music on which you can dance, so practically covers it all.
