Gimme a break....What you are quoting there is total propaganda bullshit from the electronics company. It's just bullshit talk so people will by there tables over the competition. I have played with both Straight arm and S arms in a variety of enviroments from arena to clubs....and there is not one bit of difference. You can read all the stuff you want on the internet or all the books you want, but nothing will beat pratical experiance.

Having played both, I can tell you there is no noticable difference. Not at all. and the crap about how it hits the records at a different angle...please.....You can just adjust your needle to compensate on a certain angle with any half decent cart and needle. So that point is totally moot because of the fact you can do that. Everyone sets up there tables different, it's not just a matter of plug in a cart and playing all the time. it's not rocket science here. Anyway, so your telling me, that the S arm has better quality sound.....yea..I am sure those straight arm tables that are used by big name DJ's playing to huge crowds and HUGE systems, people are all saying...dam.....I wish that DJ was using a S arm table...the sound quality is bad.....I don't think so, you know why....cause you can't tell the difference.......I am sure Mix master mike at beastie Boys concerts uses Straight arms cause they don't sound as good right? please....there is no differnce in sound quality.

i think what ckerr is getting at is that the difference is so little, who really gives a shit, maybe a dog gives a shit because their hearing senses are better than ours, but most humans cannot tell the difference. as for those linear tonearms for audiophiles, that is just a way for those companies to rip people off, i mean are you going to sit there and admire the great sound coming out of it, when you cant even tell the fucking difference. if you want better sound quality, go buy a cd player, they cost much less than those audiophiles(i think i saw those audiophiles in a magazine and it was like 2000 english pounds or something) are expensive.
