just take one look at vienna symphonic library if only i could afford/have a computer that could run it. the complete system is like $5000US and 250GB. personally though with vsts, i usually 'demo' them to make sure they're worth the money. theres a lot i've found useless and wouldn't want my hard earned dollars going to a product thats useless to me. thats a different topic all together though...

However, i am kind of stuck with how to create the sounds that are common in house music in general.

I am aware a lot of the sounds in house music are created on real instruments.. ie bass guitar, pianos, etc..

But does anyone know what sort of synths, type of waves, and/or effects that can be used to give the really warm, analogue sound that you need for (funky) house music.. Specific answers would really be appreciated

Thanks all

Just remember that every element of a house track is percussive!

What makes it funky is the bassline; play around with any instrument you like until you hear something that catches your attention and has sufficient "soul".
