On a side note, the friend I brought to PvD (some of you met him) is a photographer with ICP. He was so impressed with the crowd, scene, lighting, vibe that he wants to try and photograph some good EDM club events for his next project.
I suggested that Tieso / Oakenfold at Crobar might interest him. If you guys have any suggestions for whom we can talk to please PM me. I don't really know anyone with Crobar management. I was also going to try and talk to Sveta to see if she can get us access to Tiesto before the show if we decide to do those shows.
Thanks.
.... end threadjack ....

You don't need any kind of media pass to take pictures at Crobar but you will need some kind of connect to get backstage for Tiesto.....Sveta is prob the easiest route there.

hehe my sister is a pro wedding photographer. Been doing it for 2 3 years now. Every year she ups her prices and she keeps getting more and more demand this year she did around 39 weddings.
Now her low cost package starts at 1500$
It's so insane that her husband is actually considering quitting his engineering job to help her full time cause he helps her on weekends too but it's hard to juggle with the job.
If you do nice work word of mouth will bring you the people !
Thats a pic i took should I look into photog classes?

i'm at parsons school of design, which besides being a great school, has a phenomenal photo department. i've heard mixed opinions on whether people like it - at this school they're going to teach you how to take pictures that will sell and they're going to teach you how to market your stuff and get an actual job, so if you have more of an experimental lean i would stay faaar away from this place. but no one can argue that the instruction you receive here is world-class.
another recommendation is School of Visual Art whic a lot of people say is even better than parsons for the reasont hat they teach you how to make really good finished products. parsons puts a little more emphasis on the concept part.
both schools carry a bit of a price tag, but if you qualify for aid they are pretty generous with it
Definitely check out FIT (I take p/t classes there) .. (and yes, I'm pretty hot too, HAHA)
Out of all my photography instructors, I liked Douglas Mulaire .. he's the best!! He's so good that he even teaches at ICP sometimes. ICP - International Center for Photography - is another place you may want to check out too - but very $$$.
Hope this helps!
P.S. Better capture all the beautiful scenes in Central Park, while you still can. I work right there, so you may find me snapping away there during lunch time.
