ok ampz...first you want the bassline then build up with your percussions kicks all the way up to the climax...after playing the main part of the song for about 32 beats, take out the melody so that only the bassline is kickin...you have to do this because seriously, when youre at a rave or a club..the only part of the song that people really want to listen to is about 2/5 into the song all the way up to the climax which is about 4/5 for the full uplifting effect...
so just think of the first 1/5 and the last 1/5 of the song straight bassline...strictly for the djs so they can mix with ease...
also ive seen this style in many or almost all trance songs..when you make the melody..dont reveal the whole part of the melody until you hit the climax...play about 3 or 4 bars of the melody to build up and reveal the whole melody during the climax...(example is darude - sandstorm)

I would recommend u follow a structure when u are first making tracks. .. but after a while, start to branch off. Mess people up by throwing in a 3/4 time sig, or add in off beat claps/kicks. Just gotta make sure it sounds good to the ears. Check out the song "groove coverage - Hit me (DAT mix)" If you want to hear some obscure time signatures. It's nice for vatiety, and remember nothing is hard to mix, when mixing two tracks. you could have the most messed up, off beat, 2/3 time song going, and a good DJ could mix it into any other song (like traditional 4/4). But don't go excessive with this.. it's just nice to change things up once in awhile.

hey...this is for someone that said a good dj can mix all the different time signatures together....

try to make a long transition between for instance "nunca - moving train" and "ferry corsten - out of the blue"....that's 16th notes versus 8th triplets....it CLASHES....only part you can mix well is the part where you only hear like the kick of one of the 2 tracks. The hihats and basslines will sound like a trainwreck even if you have a spot-on sync.
