Why should he have to when you can hear the differences for yourself on it?

Because the variations between sub-genres within the seven main genres make it difficult to tell what defines each main genre. House, for example, has such a wide range of sounds, it would be nice if he could put in words what exactly makes a song a House song. A lot of people who are interested in such a thing as an EDM guide have a hard time hearing the differences between genres, so I think it would be useful if Ishkur could actually confirm in the description what it is that defines the genres (at least the main ones). He does this for a few of the sub-genres (UK garage comes to mind), and I find them to be the best descriptions.

I guess I'm bordering on the age-old "make it objective" suggestion here, but all I'm really asking for are semi-objective descriptions of the main genres.

I've already taken this into account, thanks.

Version 3 is getting rid of all that, and is going to present things in a new and different organization tree.

Not only that, but you'll be able to sort genres out by date...and by place of origin!

If, after all those samples, linked together in that way, you can't find a general definition, then you probably shouldn't be listening to electronic music.

I can't wait for V.12, which will factor scent into the equation.

Yes, that's right! You'll be able to actually SMELL the genres of EDM!

Gay Disco House = Pugnent Man Sweat
Dub = tha' reefer!
Musique Concerte = stuffy computer rooms
Detroit Techno = oil and gasoline

and many more!

(think about it, Ish!)
