It depends where you are in the world too. Caucasians are the "racial" majority in the U.S. so to see them dominate the scene in the States is to be expected.
Go to an EDM event in Japan though, and tell me the scene is dominated by white people.

So anyway, as far as EDM goies, the answer is that Trance has the least influence from African American music/rhythm. It was invented by European/white guys. While Techno, House, Jungle, Hip Hop, were invented by African American gentlemen, hence their African American rhythmic influence and relatively greater popularity amongst African Americans (at least at some point)! In general, those of African descent will prefer more rhythmic music, and "white" people or those of non-African descent will prefer more European, melodic, harmonic music. As it has been throughout history, crackerjack.
