It's wierd being away from family for Thanksgiving but, it's soooooo nice that we don't have to deal with all the downsides. We don't have to leave the house, we cook what we want, eat when we want it, how we want, it's so much fun. I can't wait.
holidays can be wierd if you don't live close enough to your family to spend it with them. for a number of years i lived out of state and i didn't like dealing with the social guilt of not being with the family. you can really be made to feel the odd man out if you don't have a family event to attend.

Last year, my girlfriend took me home for Thanksgiving lunch with her mom, godmother, and their family. After that, we had dinner with her mom's "friends." Imagine my surprise when we knock on the door of their house, and a NUN opens the door. That was an interesting meal. Fortunately, I'd had a good deal of wine at the first stop.

Usually head up to my wife's parent's house up in Ft St John's.
The whole family gathers and they have the turkey with all the fixings. Then when all the family leaves, we smoke out.
This year tradition will be broken though:

Usually my family and I go to some other family friends house. Food is eaten, conversations are had, all the "kids" still pretend like we give 2 shits what going on in everyone's lives. I get a little drunk and hit on someone...it's all great I suppose.
This year, however, we're making a trip to London. Have no idea why, but whatever, get to go to London! So I guess this years Thanksgiving is gonna be spent hanging out with kr00t and any other UKTA's that'll be at Prehab

I'll be spending Thanksgiving with my Mom & Dad and most likely my brother and his GF @ my parents house. As per usual I will eat Turkey / Mashed Potatoes / Pumpkin pie until I'm about comatose and then have a couple beers while watching football until I'm totally passed out.
