At first I had to count always, and this turns alittle bit boring beacuse you are not almost concentrated on feelign th emusic, just coutning beats on your head,

but that's for the start, later you will just feel it and no need for counting beats on your head.

Don't bother about keying tracks until ur beatmatching is top notch, I'm still workin on mine but I notice the key changes which make my mixes bad, get the basics nailed 1st.

if your cue point is at the first beat of a phrase and you drop the new record one beat before the new phrase on the playing tune begins, you're phrases will not be matched, so i can't really understand how you're doing it.

Chuck Norris, yet unable to spin vinyl as they melt when he touches them, is able to beatmatch before he even loads the cd and can phrasematch without even hearing the beats.

Anyone who complains about a bad mix is promptly roundhouse kicked out the door.

i cant count up to 32, so i count multipules. its sounds hard, but its actually super easy.

1, 2, 3, 4
1!
1, 2, 3, 4
2!
1, 2, 3, 4
3!
etc,
until
1, 2, 3, 4
8!

you've just counted 32 beats, but you only had to count to 8

i find that a lot easier

i've been doing some experiments and here's what i discovered.
the best may to cue up the track before mixing it with the playing one is to release it as usual + count 4 beats more.

heres an example: (try to understand, it really makes sense)

playing song (PL): 1-2-3-4 1-2-3-4 1-2-3-4 1-2-3-4

upcoming song (UP): 1-2-3-4 1-2-3-4 1-2-3-4 1-2-3-4

what we do is release the UP and CUE it just at the start of the 5-th beat like this:
1-2-3-4 (CUE!) 1-2-3-4 1-2-3-4 1-2-3-4

now we wait for the PL to start its next 32-beat part and release the UP as the PL comes to its 5-th beat

PL: 1-2-3-4 (RELEASE!) 1-2-3-4 1-2-3-4 1-2-3-4

The point is: if you release your UP as usual (CUE at 1-st, RELEASE at 1-st) you risk to get a sudden beat-ending of the PL. so it's like this - boom booom booom booom (now you release the track to the rhythm hoping to target the 1-st) and whooooooooooooooo...... the music's dead. now when you wait another 4-beats you can be sure the next 32-beat is going to bang the drum. thats my method
