This is when you use a different track.

I couldnt give you a suggestion because I dont spin trance, but as a DJ, this is when you need to be versitile in your tracklist. You cant go into a club and start spinning set rips because you say you "have no choice". As a DJ you need to have a choice, thats what DJing is about - you improvise and adjust to the situation. If you dont have the track dont spin it, use something else, if you dont know what to replace it with rearrange the mix such that youre dont feel like youre backed into a wall, although, you should never mix such that you put yourself in a position in which that you dont know what to do - but again a DJ should have the ability to get out of any position.

If its a set rip that sounds good enough to mix...the set must suck hard.

Is it a 20 second mix or something? lol

You can always get a good quality set rip and re-construct the intro and outro...

in this situation that u're describing, yes, definitely no dj would spin a set rip in a club or anywhere that u're playing live for a live audience, but in this case we're not in a live audience. i agree w u completely, i would never spin a set rip on a live situation
