Woo hoo!!! Italo disco and 1990s eurodance!!!!

Can't wait till Karim wins another one!

I do like this contest,I'd have to say. Not just because I got some tunes Id'd. Jan has a good taste, but he wins too many contests. He should let others win

I'd love for someone to win out of the blue, if only so the next ID competition was a change from the usual blend of tracks the usual suspects always deliver.

I could have included lots of drum n bass, breaks, ambient and hardcore if I wanted, but I doubt it would make me any more popular among the participants.

gotta agree, sorry jan but after a few of these i thought ud realise, people like some easy tracks in there and as far as i can see theres very little of that. Thing is theres about 4-5 people on TA who have a similar music taste to you and they will do very well, but at the end of the day is that really all that entertaining? This is all done for a laugh and it kinda stops being that when the best any new person to this can get is like 6 points.

Well that goes without saying doesn't it. Those who have similar tastes to me are obviously going to do better than others who don't. That's no different from anyone else running the comp, so why do I get the heat for it?

And furthermore, what do you want me to do to counter this? Throw in more "universal" tracks that everyone can get? Is there even such a thing? Or should I just use tracks that noone else has heard of, and pretty much alienate the entire range of contestants?

I agree that "known tracks" is a difficult line to tread, its like "who wants to be a millionaire" the answers are only easy if you know them. Though even on that show you can see the line between the easy £1000 questions and the not so easy £64,000 questions (or whatever equivalent it is in each country). The problem in my eyes and im really trying not to sound like a bitter old man here is that this contest is ridiuculously siclical, and that is by no means your fault, but once in a while in would be nice to see a contest where there was more than just the general 10-20 people participate.

Now i know thats not ur fault jan and ive gone off on a tangent but i just feel like you dont help the situation by putting in some rather obscure tracks and lets face it quite a few in here and in ur past contests are.

I'm sorry, but what am I supposed to do? On one hand I get dozens of remarks about how obvious some of the tracks I've chosen are, and then the other side complains that I've chosen too many obscure ones. I can't win this. All I can do is choose tracks that I deem obvious and tracks that I do not deem obvious and hope that I have enough of a balance, because making a comp that includes everyone is damn near impossible if you ask me.

i don't think we can blame anyone for the same people winning all the time. i mean if you made the id's easier...it's not like the people that win a lot aren't going to get them.

Im certainally not complaining that theyre obscure, if easy ones were put in I probobly wouldnt know them either

Ill still keep entering in the vain hope that I'll win one someday, and then my ID contest will be different but will have some obscure ones
