But once I get about 80% done the track, I can never put the final touches on it to complete it. It'll then sit there for weeks till I get back to it. What I've found sometimes helps is to start writing a new track and get involved in that one till I get bored of it. Then I go back to the original and try to finish that off.

Do any of you guys have similar problems? And if so, what do you guys do to help from getting bored with a track.

what your doing there is right on anyway. finishing 80% of your track and letting it sit for a few weeks lets you decide where its going to go, does this part fit right, does my kick sit right in my mix........... and so on.

I also work on many tracks at the same time, if I get stuck on one, just let it rest and work on another.

I just finished a track that I started in June of 1998. COuldn't find a decent ending of about 3 mins. SO yea it happens all the time.....

Try and listen to music and think of how they made it and let it inspire you to continue making your track better than what you just heard..i guess
