I think you sound pretty damn good myself, maybe try exploring a different genre for a little bit to help get you out of your rut you speak of, try writing something a little different than you're use to or listen to some different styles to spawn new ideas.

From where I'm sitting your music sounds good on my speakers.

Look all I did was post MY opinion. Everybody here has their own opinion and it should be respected. I dont like my opinion being called "stupid" as very few people in this forum are "Pro's". I listened to your track and it does have a FL feel to it. That is why I suggested that using a more powerfull sequencer would be better. You've been at it for two years, that suggest that you are serious about producing you own tracks. People who are seriously trying to produce dont use FL, period!. FL is a intro into producing (MY OPINION). Armin Van Buuren isnt using FL that I can asure you.

Anyway, didnt mean to upset you or anyone else in the post.

Sangel

And to the rest of the peanut gallery in this post - Why do my opinions get shot down? If it doest matter what sequencer you use why do pro producers use Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, Reason, huh?

Anyway, I listened to you track and i does nt sound that bad. I personally dont believe in mentors cause they enforce a specific style onto your music.

Peace

Sangel

FL does NOT suck at ALL buddy. I think that as the versions come along, FL is getting much more sophisticated. That isn't to say that logic and cubase isn't a level higher than FL, but FL is definitely capable of producing quality in any type of music.

I'm roughly 2 years into producing, just like her, and still with FL at this point. I think she should master fruity loops first, then move on to reason or cubase if she really feels it necessary. From the one track I heard, she's not taking full advantage of FL, yet. IMO it's not the sequencer you use, it's what you do with it that matters. I have to say though, if I ever decide I want to try to go pro, I most likely will use something other than fruity.

I learned the hard way with FL, just by accidentally discovering things, or deciding I want to do a certain thing, and then figuring out how to do it. There's better ways to learn though, with all the FL help and tips on the internet. If you got a mentor now, lucky you! I think we all could of used one. I think I'm going to need one for Reason, but I'm just going to have to buy a book or something.

Alright, let's get it together people. FL is fine, we all know you can produce professional-sounding tracks with it, and we all (hopefully) also know that it's not the software of choice for the vast majority of the music production world. Who cares. Use whatever you want to use, and if someone "disses" your favourite sequencer, then why don't some of you for once try being the bigger man and walking away from the argument, rather than instantly getting defensive?

Dude, TylerC totally doesn't use Fruity Loops. Like, at all.

Seriously, it's one thing to call Floops unintuitive, but to bash it because its bundled sounds are easily recognizeable? That's pretty shitty, man. Presets in any sequencer are looked down upon, as far as I know. Cubase presets sounds like crap if not enough work is put into it. Why don't people bash it?

You lose at the internet, my friend.

WTF ??? How can you hear if it is made in FL, yes the Synth that come with FL are not the best but if other VST's are used and FL is used as a sequencer how can you tell, the sequencer does not have a sound...

People make 'pro' sounding tracks with FL if you took the time to look around the forum you would know this. Just beacuse Armin does not use it dosent make it shit. People have made top tracks with out the use of high end gear/programs.

Cubase, Logic are no doubt a higher end program but that does not make FL a shit program. If you have the skill/tallent you can make make a track in any program.

Garth Emery made Mistral on a old laptop using "basic soft synths" . I supose you could hear that it was made in such a way????
