I'm roughly 2 years into producing, just like her, and still with FL at this point. I think she should master fruity loops first, then move on to reason or cubase if she really feels it necessary. From the one track I heard, she's not taking full advantage of FL, yet. IMO it's not the sequencer you use, it's what you do with it that matters. I have to say though, if I ever decide I want to try to go pro, I most likely will use something other than fruity.
I learned the hard way with FL, just by accidentally discovering things, or deciding I want to do a certain thing, and then figuring out how to do it. There's better ways to learn though, with all the FL help and tips on the internet. If you got a mentor now, lucky you! I think we all could of used one. I think I'm going to need one for Reason, but I'm just going to have to buy a book or something.
