no RJ, i havent used it offline in the last two months...i am very consistant with my card purcahses...Dance-Tunes.com was a little out of the ordinary from where i would spend my credit.

i guess....moral of the story is becareful how you use your credit card online or offline...only use it at trusted and reliable places...you live and you learn

People dont realize how many places are double swiping without you even realizing it. They are even putting fake readers on gas pumps! Ive never had fake charges but my credit card gave me a new number last year because they told me that i had used my card at a place that had been conducting credit card fraud.

2 years ago Visa called me asking if I had been to Europe in the last few days.

Apparently some dude was on a bender with my Visa and alreadyracked up close to 5 digits partying a casino in Bucharest, Romania.

Visa cancelled the card, took care of everything.

A pizza driver in the area was caught a few months later - he was taking carbon imprints home with him and selling them. Now I pay pizza w/ cash.

if you guys heard about the stuff that was happening two weeks ago. Dont know any details, but aparently a shitload of people were ripped off and I was one of them. Some dude took a copy of my DEBIT card, watched me put my password in and then went swipe happy. I only have a daily limit of 500 thankfully and the bank returned all the money.
It was all over the news too.

You don't know for sure if this WAS related to dance-tunes.com.

Fact is, most identity theft or fraud these days actually occurs in the most obvious ways, that is, IN person.

Getting credit card info from a secured site is no easy matter, and it requires some time as well as skill.

Getting it in person is much easier, and could be as simple as a fake reader being used, or you not paying attention for a few seconds.

Few months ago I had some "suspicious" transactions on my debit card. I've never used it online, and then one day I got a call from the bank that my account was "under investigation" for fraud. Apparently they were saying some guy was frauding a whole whack of debit accounts.
