I am all for the speed limit going to 120 with photo radar at every bridge...anyone going 5 km/hr over the speed limit will be fined.

As for the diamond lanes....stupid idea....not a way to solve the problem. Quite honestly...I can't think of any way to solve the traffic problem except to widen the highways....or have more toll highways. The truth is....people like myself need to take their car to work....I have no choice and cannot car pool....plus there are those who just won't take any other form of transportation...regardless.

If most of the cars are going 120 then one shouldnt be questioning the drivers. Moreso they should be questioning the artificially low speed limits which are an epidemic in this province.

Artificially low speed limits are nothing but politically sanctioned corruption. Force people to break the law in order to collect money from them.

totally agree... i always said that this is a country where your mafia is in full effect, it's just not as obvious as in Russia or Italy or something along those lines... here you're being 'taxed' and 'raped up the ass' with fines in a legal way.

Exactly at least in those countries people realized they are being ass raped and by whom.

In Canada where people dont want to even believe that corruption happens even when its obvious (adscam for example) we just live with it.

Speed limits are one example.

Parking fines and tricky signs that confuse people into parking where they shouldnt. And then making the appeals process nearly impossible.

Liquor laws that pretty much force any alcohol establishment to break the law. For example did u know a club can get shut down if a fight breaks out even if its contained by professional security? Of course fines are usually the way out of that

smoking laws -- dont think they really care about your health. Its all about the fines.

Animal licensing. same thing

the list goes on... the biggest corruptor on a law vs fine level seem to be municipalities. Which is why it scares the hell out of me to know that mcguinty is about to give toronto way more power over both LAWS and TAXES.

The speed limit is irrelevant. Not adjusting one's speed to the traffic flow is bad driving, whether they're going faster or slower than the flow.

Shouldn't that have been one of the first things you learned in driving school?

If everybody is going over the limit then it's an indication that the road is underposted, because most people drive significantly lower than the limit in hazardous (i.e. snowy, pitch black) conditions. The problem is, "absolute" limits never take into account the driving conditions, which are critical in determining a "safe" speed.
