but the normal is 5 - 6 hours a day maybe ..

It really depends on my mood, but i usually prod on weekends...
If im drunk i tend to quit earlier... if im blazed i often end up sitting for like 12 hours or more!

But "normally" i would say i spend no more than 2-3 hours on regular sessions.

in heavy production-periods:
up to 14 hours/ day (rather at night), in average 8-9 hours/ day. of course i take little breaks every now and then.

but then comes a time where i do different things like engaging in my studies at uni - and where i don't do anything musically, perhaps reading some articles or music related magazines.

long periods can cause ear fatigue - you should take a 10min break every 2 hours at least, each hour is better. And listen at no more than 90dB (helps to phatten up the bass when turned up).

Only increasing volume occassionally for reference.
That way, when you come back to what you have done later it still sounds 'clean' for want of a better word.
