What I hear about Sweden that people use to explain stuff like this is the phrase "cacoon culture". Alot of people say that in the scandinavian contries the winter places more people indoors where they sit together and produce stuff like dance music and most of the demoscene productions.
I'm not saying they are all introverted geeks or anything, I actually know next to nothing about sweden, but I have heard many people use the phrase "cacoon culture" to explain why they appear dispraportionally productive in the media world. It just seemed to be understandable that people who have more time indoors with their technology would come out with alot of good productions compared to a place where people go outside more and dont have as much access to such things.
Definately lotsa good music and porn coming from over there.

Well David West is doing his own thing now so i reckon they are 'unofficially' broken up. Haven't heard anything from Robin Soderman since.
After Greece, Sweden looks like a good spot for Dave Seamans next Audiotheraphy CD!

I'm not too surpised though. Sweden is ranked as the most creative nation in the world with Japan in second place.
yeah as mentioned already Sweden got some of the finest techno, house and progpsy producers. though we lack high quality melodic producers. we do have some but they are mainly copying the dutch sound. in that field Finland is much better than Sweden with good producers such as Orkidea, Slusnik Luna, Beatpusher, Miika Kuisma etc.
the most interesting aspect of this is that Swedens EDM clubbing scene is almost none existing. We have almost no big regular trance or techno clubs. Just like once in a month. Even for big cities such as Gothenburg.
