A thread like this bounces around the Pioneer DJ forums every few months and their reply is always "Of course we will be working on an improved version at some point, maybe of quite a different nature, although currently there are no plans for such a model to be released in the forseable future" or words to that effect... so the chances are they're throwing ideas around, maybe writing a few proceedures to test these ideas etc which may be included in a new cd-playing device but there currently isn't a model they're specifically working on.

And I think it's very unlikely a new version would use BluRay as that's a technology invented by Sony who apparently have said they want a fair amount for any use of thier patented design... much more likely they'd use HD-DVD technology which doesn't hold quite as much data but it's still about 40GB capacity.

But personally I can't see why Pioneer would want to create a new version of the CDJ1000 as opposed to the DVJ - don't get me wrong, I don't give a fuck about being able to play DVDs but the DVJ is really the next model of CDJ1000 where they've just included DVD playing facilities... things are getting to a point where it would be daft to "down-grade" the technology to another unit which only supports CD playback.

lol
Its ok- they are waiting for me in an apartment the states to pick up in a few weeks.
Price i paid for them brand new (god bless the £/$ exchange rate!!!) , I could sell them back here in the uk as used and still make a profit.
So if a new model is announced, I will be getting rid of them sharpish

The only way that I can see pioneer improving cdj-1000 is to add a knob that could change the pitch of the song regardless of tempo (say... +- 12 cent.. simiral to traktor).

and secondly add a lcd display that would display the waveform in real time (again just like in traktor)

lets face it... cdj-1000 is already pretty much a perfect cd turntable as is. most of the planned updates are bound to be just useless gadgets.

I believe the 1000s and most other top end gear (save 1200s, (1210s have it) are dual voltage.

a wouldnt say the Pio`s 1000 have true vinyl simulation. they are good cause they are rock-solid, reliable and easy-2-use, but the vinyl mode is half my dream. what i really like is the idea of Numarks CDX players. now that is real vinyl control.. but i heard CDXs aren't that reliable and ppl complained much and stuff
if it would be of the same quality as Pioneer, it would definately go #1 in clubs + mp3 playback capability + effects + blah blah blah
=)
i dunno anyways, i wont be havin the money for even 1 CDJ in the far future =)

I have never understood why many people are after the "vinyl control". Okay.. I can understand it when it comes to scratching, but when mixing trance or house there is usually no scratching involved and using the rotating vinyl on top of the numark cd-turntable to bend the pitch is nowhere near as accurate or comfortable than pitchbending on cdj-1000's motionless platter. Sweaty hands + vinyl can cause some serious trouble and thatswhy its always a good idea to ride the pitch slider instead of touching the vinyl physically ==> rotating platters on cd-turntables are no use for dj's who dont scratch.

And if you put the wavs in the AUDIO_TS folder when making a DVD...it'll play them douchebag. Don't try to step up to a level of intelligence you are not yet at.

So what's the advantage? It's still not DVD-A quality. These players are NOT about audio. There is only a slight advantage over the CDJ-1000s. It's about manipulating video, jackass.

As for insulting my intelligence, um, have you read your posts? Is it fun being an opinionated know-it-all when you never seem to actually know what you're talking about?

I'm just waiting for the analogue revolution In about 20 years time someone will come up with a way of using totally interference-free analogue signals which, by the very nature of analogue, will be better quality than digital ever can be

That or someone will come up with a new way of representing the data, a third data type alongside continuous (analogue) and discrete (digital), which will be better

Telepathy controlled and everything.

Let's just see...
