Oh that's great... it's the good ole' "famous/successful people are always right" argument! Let's all entrust our lives to movie stars because they know how things really get done!

Succesfull sounds/methods are always being copied, stop acting like a child with saying stuff like "OMG that shit sucks", nobody needs such a remark, that is for people to figure out themselves.

And if you would have read the rest of my post:

As others need to use the search, maybe more adolescent persons could refrain from replying to topic # 1001 about the same subject. You guys aren't obligated to reply to topics you find annoying you know.

And a little addition to the latest quote: maybe this way people will try to figure it out themselves.
Hooray for only reading the parts you disliked.

I tried sidechaining in FL, fairly simple to set up. I wasn't very impressed though. I probably didn't use the proper settings, seems like yet another skill one has to aquire. I kind of lost interest. It's not something I need right now anyways.

Besides, it irritates me to no end how so many people want to create this horribly lame and annoying effect.

Sorry mate,

But I tend to dissagree, I think if done tastefully sidechain compression on pads basses or multiples of things etc. is very relavent and can sound very nice. It can make a song groove and flow that much more. You should relax more Diginut I bet you got big veins popping outta your head But when I say tasteful I dont mean eric prydz call on me or just about any of the hardtrance songs thats just obcene and lame. Tasteful uses of it I think are songs like "blue water" by "black Rock" Arcadia by G&D....

Why is it that all you people ever do is start stupid arguments, waste people's time, and spend endless hours doing this same shit. Okay so he didn't use the search option...tell him to use it next time. Second, oh well he wants to learn about sidechaining...let him learn it and make his own sound. Just because you don't like the sound doesn't mean you can't tell him in a more polite way or give him some constructive criticism on the subject. Could everyone just take a more conservative approach to this and be more of a help than just a pain in the ass all the time.

If you use it in a fair deal it can give some acceptable results and some extra pressure to the groove. If overcompressed like benny you end up with gaysongs indeed.

Diginut has posted in like 105021515 threads and does it every day and he sees all. He flames on people that ask common questions, but not all of us use the forum every day. Diginut deserves our respect for participating so much, but we deserve his respect (and patience) too. He might respond to this post and flame me, but I won't care.

I'm new here, and I see that diginut is very active here. I like what he has to say about a lot of things, he has a lot of knowledge to dole out. So he flames people who post before checking the FAQs first or searching. Sure, he needs to chill out, for his own sake more than anything, but I don't care now. Yep, like said here already, since he makes a big contribution here, I'll willing to overlook I'm just going to laugh now when digi says "for fuck sake, another thread about _______ (fill in the blank)".
