The pitch slider on turntabels are percentage based not tied to bpm. So when ur going down 1 notch its not taking the record from 127 bpm to 126 its taking it down 1% of 127 bpm. So if ur using beatcounters ur still going to have to get a feel for the slider u can just 'Mix by numbers' as iv found some djs beleive they can. That is all hope it helps

lol thanks, never knew this. i try not to use the DJM beat counter anyway

Well its best not to use beat counters at all, i find em aight to get a general idea of the pitch differnce, i usually tap my bpm in though welst using my efx500. Though it is true that the pioneer ones are much better then others i would rely on them.

yeah, same goes for serato. at the top middle of the serato screen there is an indicator that represents the BPM of your track and shows them properly matched when the peaks are aligned and a white line appears between the peaks. this isnt displaying the alignment but just the BPM.

but ill adjust pitch to get all the white lines in place and stable and the tracks are actually at least 1 BPM off.

just goes to show you, the only accurate BPM counter is your ear. ANALOG STYLE BABY YEA!!!!

Yea iv noticed that as well, though serato has really gotten my mixing faster i can cue up and match a track in less then 10 seconds now cuz of the bpm matching options in serato. Its good for average bpm buts u gotta rely on ur ear in the end.
