if you're allowed to bring a calculator, get one of the texas instrument ones.. i remember doing math tests with homemade programs, in which you typed in all known numbers, and it calculated the correct answer.. you could also disguise the program by calling it Tetris or something, and i believe they could be locked with password.
they were also perfect for taking notes, so during chemistry tests, where the calc was allowed to be used, one could easily sneak in the whole periodic system and a lot of usefull information.
conclusion: get a calculator which allows you to make your own programs, or let you type down notes.

Most schools and colleges now ban certain calculators that can be used to harbor information.

i cheated quite a lot. not because i didn't know the subject, but because it was kinda adrenaline rush. especially in those classes where instructors said you would instantly get an F for the class if you were ever caught.

They made us do that before Finals and PSATS in high school. I would borrow my friends (or subsequently lend him mine) identical calculator. The teacher would clear one, then while they were otherwise distracted, we'd put away the clearaed one and bring out the one with the saved things.
I never saw it as cheating because in any real life application you can have formulas and information at your fingertips. You should be judged on how well you use it, not ho well you memorize and forget it.

Russians and their need for adrenaline. When we are bored, we just want tea. When they are bored, they want to conquer the world.
