Most of the time you ask them something they tell you to look on the map, you buy a metrocard and they give you the wrong one and they claim they did their job right. Why? Cause they can't mess up. This has happened to me and everyone i know MANY times. They don't deserve anything they are asking for. And as soon as Sharpton joined this little event you know it's bullshit.
Most unions are rediculase. And the MTA should be ripped apart just like Reagan did with the pilot's union, as i said earlier. |
Who cares about the people selling metrocards? They want to complete eliminate their jobs altogether anyhow. You're talking about the bus drivers, subway conductors, and all of the people that work in the union (I guess this includes the maintenance people, right?).
How many of you get raises for your jobs that are annual and sometimes performance based? I know I get a performance based raise each year. I'd be fucking pissed if I didn't. I mean, there's inflation to deal with. Gas prices increase, food, entertainment, etc. How would you like it if your quality of life decreased the longer that you stayed with your job because they didn't increase your pay?
As for me, I'll be walking to work tomorrow. My firm just sent out their contingency plan, which includes a bus from the Flatbush Mall and one from Yankee Stadium making stops on their way to my firm. Normally, I have to be in at 10 am. Under this plan, I have to catch a bus at 8:05 near Union Square. I'd rather sleep another hour and walk (while trying to get a cab if there's not a massive traffic jam) since I only have to go from 14th to the Financial District. Wouldn't be the first time I've made that walk, though it will be a bit colder tomorrow.
