this song is ok ..vocals are ok just another trance vocal that sounds just like any other vocal i say the best rmx is armins tribal mix .... its the most original ..... everyone says the rising star mix is the best but come on that damn song sounds too much like alibi - eternity (rising star mix) same everything just the vocals and different loop..... Armin could of done something more original to this song .... so the song never hit me that much ..armin tribal mix is by far the best it has the nicest sequence through the beat and it it builds and flows more nicely to the breakdown ....its just the most original i think..... blank & jones mix not bad, Above & Beyond mix is ok , rising star mix is ok but sounds too much like alibi, well thats all i have to say lol

the female vocals in that song are superb, I can't imagine that song without them.

And, they're not some crappy vocals where a non-native English speaker sings something with a foreign accent, this one is actually very clean and romantic.

Yes Iio Rapture has way better vocals then Sound of goodbye....there unique... SOUND OF GOOD BYE vocals sound like every other fricken female vocals in every damn trance song... they dont stand out what so ever ....... I consider Sound of Goodbye (Armin's tribal feel) and the AvB remix of Rapture are equal, both contain great female vocals, wonderful to dance to, specily with your partner
Both are uplifting and make u feel good, so therefore containing the classic elements of what trance is about.

Sound of Goodbye needs the vocals, I like the dub mixes too but prefer the vocal mixes.
Some tracks like Ayumi's are better in the dub mix but S.o.G needs the vocals.

For sure this is one of my fav tracks of 2001

I have had the Blank & Jones and Armin's Tribal feel mix since 11th August 2001 which is around when the white labels were released.
And yeah the Blank & Jones Mix is superb but for me the Armin's Tribal Feel is just that bit better.

Ahhh, the wonderful vocals debate again.

I love this song. The vocal are what make it. It's both uplifting and haunting, elements that make it a signature trance song (at least for me).

I bought the 12" Rising Star Mix b/w Tribal Mix as soon as it was put on the wall at Satellite in Boston.
