Don't buy it, especially for that price ! it might help one of your next tracks with some cool sounds and FX-chains but it won't make you any better at producing.

That's because the principles of good production aren't specific to trance or any other genre. The only way to do it proper is to start from first principles and work your way into the specifics.

Sorry, but there's no Instant Box O' Talent you can buy or Big Red Button you can press to make good music. I know that's what you want, just as it's what half the other newbie producers on this forum want, but it doesn't exist. Professional producers have had years of experience as well as networking with other producers.

Patience is a virtue and so is persistence. If you honestly think that you can instantly improve your skill several orders of magnitude simply by looking at someone else's project, you're in for some serious disappointment.

Generally, I think most of us want that.

I certainly do, and I am no newbie.

There must be ways to get some free sources of good producers.

I have some, though I can't share those projects either :P

what will happen when you open the MAGICAL $350 Project:

open file:

1. Look at project(wow that looks cool)
2. Look at some other stuff in project(Hey I do that too)
3. Look at more stuff in project(oh cool he used that plug-in, so do I)
4. Look at project again(man this isnt all that complicated..I've seen most of these tricks on tranceaddict)
5. Start Changing Stuff in project(man I'm gonna remix this track)
6. Look at project again(wow I just wasted $350, I could have bought like 2 soft synths for that?!?!)
7. Look at progect(man I still suck)

And that my friend is what will happen.

This isnt coming from experience but I assure you that is pretty close to what you wil expect from just looking at a project page.

Give it time...if you can followthrough your time will come.

So true, learn it yourself and you will appreciate your work more. Where has the fun and work gone out of music production? is this not what it is all about?

Anybody knows where to get this "the trance experience - an introduction to EDM" in germany? althought it is available in german, I can't find it in any of the usual waves-retailershops. I'm thinking about getting it, not for musical inspiration but maybe to learn some more efficient workflow in sonar and learn more about good mixing. I know it might be as dissapointing as buying a source project for 350 bucks *lol* but hey it's christmas and I'm in the mood of money spending... so please no comments about return on investment
