do i just need a GOOD 2.1 system (since i don't intend to watch dvds or play games on my comp) ?

Yes, a 2.1 system will be fine since like 99% of the music recorded to date only uses the left and right channels. I'm sure you can find yourself a thumping ass 2.1 system for $250 and under.

I was actually looking at the Logitech Z-2300 2.1 system. It seems really powerful and would fit my needs. Does anyone have these speakers?

Ouch, perhaps you should go the Boston Acoustic route. I had a set of 2.1 Boston Acoustics with my old Gateway PC and they were fairly good. My sister has the computer now and uses the speakers to death.

I got 200 dollars what would be the best computer speakers i could get on that seriously weak budget.......Spending money for tuition makes me miserable
