I've heard enought horror stories about record deals. People getting ripped off for a bunch of money only to have about 1000 records distributed. Maybe what I should have said is that you shouldn't jump on the corporate media horse just to get signed. Even "indie" deals are usually owned by some huge corporation who only wants to pad their expenses.
When you start looking around for deals, always check them out. A record deal can ruin your life if you are not carefull. Stick to making good music. If you really want a deal, let your promoter handle it. Some labels exist only to rip off artists.

Fruity Loops is not only great for beginners to learn the concept of producing electronic music (great manual too), but it's also very helpful to advanced users. I have found many neat tricks with effects and plugins and I'm quite happy with the application.
Expensive software is great in a way that it expands your abilities and makes your job easier after spending months and months reading manuals and screwing around with buttons you have no idea of.

there`s a program called morpheus..(or kazaa.. allmost the same hehe..)
search for fruitlyloops.. and you`ll find...
Fruity Loops is about 129 USD for a good full version. But you get every upgrade for free. Try that with acid or rebirth/reason.
