You have surfaced another problem here, they are running out of argon to put in lightbulbs ! , well not just yet but there's not alot left. Another reason to switch off lights where possible.

eLe_Vate: I see that you are an expert in hydroelectric energy. This is not my field of work. I work on solar and cogeneration systems. A question: What is the typical electrical power output for an hydroelectric plant and how much superficial area of water we need?

PhaseFour: Amplifier is not the right term. The right one is concentrator. This is used in solar thermal collectors to obtain high temperatures but it hasn't any effect on the amount of energy produced. The highest available comercial concetrator is a mirror of 6 m of parabolic shape and the collector can reach up to 400 degrees Celsius.

Often the magazines and the solar energy are not good friends. There are a lot of lies! Because the journalist have no idea about this issue.
