I think its been a weak year for trance as a whole. There have been sum truely shocking records like SOS and Dogzilla - Withouth You and not really one possible classic record released the entire year.
As for 2006 my guess would be that SVD will become a far bigger player than he already is. He has the potential to becom as big as the other big DJ's like PVD & Tiesto etc. Also think (although i hope not) that John Askew and the Discover sound is goin to become very popular in trance. That is veyr little to the actual melodies but really strong kicks etc.
Hopefully Armin will see that chasing Tiesto and using the more commercial sound isnt working for him and he will see that hes become boring and predicatable and might go back to his uplifitng sound where he is at his best. Seeing Tiesto at the HMH gave me hope that he will also go back to the style he had circa 2002. IF he does a lot of his critics (including me) will get off his back.
At the end of the day i really dont know what a lot of people expect to happen in trance. If you want the sound to evolve then make records yourself. The bottom line is if the clubbers dont like it it will be unsuccessful. Clubbing wise things have been good. Ive been to sum superb nites and i think it will be similar again. As long as everyone can go out and enjoy themselves then its all good imo

Thats great, but the only reason this impression of Tiesto is popular is because they release the wrong freaking sets to be broadcast/mp3'ed. If for example they'd have recorded the 24-03-05, or the 29-04-05, or some of the ISOS club Tour instead of Disney etc. then there would be a lot more respect on here for Tiesto who (still) sometimes plays like he did 2001-02.
