The Bass was mad all the way!! Pvd's first song just went DOOF! DOOF! DOOF! I saw Dj Woody, but I didn't bother to say Hi But WOW that night was just fuckin' crazy all the way and It really was an experience to just be there and see some massive djs including Nu Nrg which i hope i can see them again because their set was amazing. PvD rocked it at times but some of it was getting boring, but then Jules just made me go insane with all of his tunes and "Pleasure Island" which prolly was the top tune for the night for me. Schulz dropped some nice stuff and Airwave - Breathing to end it all was just great.

It was hot as fuck in there aswell and humid. Sweaty bodies dancing all around you. And some hot guys aswell. But yeah, the e-pools were everywhere, but the vibe was just great.

Great Night
Great Djs
Great NYE
Just Massive.

Swedish Egil started it all with Killa. His set was good. If memory is properly working, he played Halcyon, Elevation remix? Damn, I forgot what else he played.

NU NRG played an energetic set. They brought it. Don't know any of their tracks though.

Paul van Dyk was okay. I don't know what he was playing during the first part of the mix though.

Judge Jules rocked the arena. He took a quick pic of PVD and then went on to play some classic tunes. He was loving it, and so was the crowd. He played Fancy Fair?

Wait, Swedish Egil played Without You Near. Yeah, that just came back.

Markus' set was nice. He played a Mojado tune, Naranja maybe?

Oh, JJ played Marcel Woods' Advanced. Does anyone brainstorm before writing a review?

Swedish Egil played G&D's At The Same Time too. Bear with me.

Seriously now, it was a nice event to welcome the new year.

Markus played Language, I think.

Love is in the air

After a quick stop it was off to TAO with Markus, Heather and Alex.
I met heather before at WMC last year... But this time I really got to talk to her. She is so down to earth and a sweetheart. Alex is also Uber-smart for a 10 year old. hehe
We get to TAO a little after 12:30 and the place was packed with wall to wall people! Jules was on and he was playing some really hard stuff. Really hard. But everyone seemed to be enjoying it. The crowed was deffently mixed. Not all kids. But you did have your puddles, washers, and shirtless wonderboys.

Markus had a pretty difficalt task. Keeping the engry up with what seemed like a over 145 bpm. But I know Markus can do it and seen him work wonders after BBB.
Once he gets on I find my spot on the dance floor. Middle Front. Man Markus threw down yet another amazing set. This one was a half hour longer and diffent then the set at Spundae.

I knew more tracks this time around as well
Dogzilla- With out you (dub) The place went off when he doped this one!
Matthew Dekay- Deep show and Bad.. I think?

Some IDer I am..But non the less Markus was on fire!
You could not wipe the smile off my face. or get me to stop dancing. Well.. I did stop to move away from the icky boys who wanted to do the rub the penis dance. I also move away when some Cracked out dude got on the stage. That brought bad EDC memories back
I also ran into some TA's people as well and ran into friends I have not seen in a long time. It was awsome!

A little after 3:30 I go back stage again and Markus Plays SOS(SVD rmix) This song has to die! But at the middle of it fireworks got off! HOLY SHIT! They where so loud and so bright! I felt Sorry for Markus being right next to them! The first set was on with the music the second set seemed like they justed pushed the button and they went off.
All though I HATE HATE HATE that Track Markus quickly redeamed himself and Played Rank 1- Breathing (breaks) OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!! I have not heard Markus play that song live in ages! \O/\O/ I remeber requesting that track all the time. Such an amazing night! After Markus was done it was time to head back over to Spundae to get my car.

I ened up at some random loft party in Downtown la. But club bed was calling my name bad. So I went back to my place.

I had the almost perfect new years this year! I had such an amazing time! WEEEE!!!!

I will post my picts soon!

fuckin vip line took ages...so we got in on the last NU NRG song, thank god it was a floor banger, Nu Nrg - Butterfly. Afterwards Paul van Dyk came up playing some really deep stuff, i like that hes going back to his harder style rather than the cheesy catchy melody kinda stuff...which is goood sometimes but not when it's over done... some tracks i remember were jonsie - independance, pvd - the otehr side (deepdish remix), and of course he ended with "time of our lives"(which was fitting for the new years celebration) and as always "for an angel".

One thing i loved was how Judge Jules was bringin back the old school. With tracks like New Order - COnfusion(Pump Panel Reconstruction mix) i was dancing there waiting for blood to fall from the ceiling and for everyone around me to turn into vampires on the spot...i dont know why i had that thought, but he also played Push - Universal Nation and i was lovin it

Markus Schulz was playing some really good shit, but by that time i was too dehydrated, and my head hurt from bouncing up and down nonstop for hours on end...so me and my buddies went to go sit up on the stands, when markus busted out Mode Hookers - Breathe it almost gave me a burst of energy again so much i started dancing in my seat...i was waiting to hear that one for a while...i think he had it sped up too quick so it lost the rhythm that u get when u listen to it at like 130 bpm...i wish markus woulda played some perry o'neil though....by the way, anyone record any of the event? id love to relive the night....but OVERALL!!! it was a sick ass night, definitely one of the best goventures event so far...hope dj reza keeps it up with setting up the right line up

REVIEW
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE ARRIVAL
For once, I actually showed up EARLY to an event. I arrived around 9:30pm. I parked at my secret $10 parking lot, avoided the HUGE traffic to get into the Sports Arena, and walked right in through the main entrance. I was surprised to see how organized this event was. This time, they had DOUBLE the entrances and double the search staff. It took me no longer than two minutes to walk in. Surprisingly enough, security allowed me to bring in my camera.

INSIDE
This year, there was a lot more CLEAN bathrooms open, way more concession & food stands, and way more alcohol vendors. But, since they were located at odd locations, people didn't know about them so the normal spots were crowded. I also saw vendors walking around the crowd selling drinks so people wouldn't have to go wait in line. That was cool.

THE HOUSE ROOM
I did a walk through to familiarize my self with the location. The usual lay out was changed. The house room was moved to a new location I never seen before, it was partially indoors, and partially outdoors. But, it was completely tented incase it rained. And yes, the stage was located on the OUTDOORS half of the houseroom. The house room system kicked ass. It sounded really clean.

What's normally the house arena, outside on the bottom floor, was the BASSRUSH arena. The system there was ear piercing. This time, the bleachers were open too.

THE CARNIVAL RIDES & FAIR
Yeap! TAO had a full blow fair outside. It was located right above the Bassrush arena. You can barely see it from downstairs cause it was kind of hidden. That said, not too many people knew about it and it was dead. That should teach people to go outside once in a while, and explore the COMPLETE event, not just the main room.

NuNRG
I got there at their peak. An honestly, they didn't cut it for me. It was weird to see PVD actually wait for someone to be done with their set so he can play. He stood there on stage standing against the rails, just waiting for them to be over. NuNRG had their own set up next to the main stage. Then when it was PVD's turn to go on, it seemed like he was trying to tell them to stop! lol... That was funny. NuNRG’s CONNECTED was their only song I recognize. That song kicks ass.

PAUL VAN DYK
PVD's intro was sick! When he took over, all of the sudden the half full arena, got sardine packed. It was crowded & extremely hot. Too many kids, but I didn't let that bother me. I was there for one reason, PVD. I didn't care about anything else. Oddly enough, I only ran into one TA. Where was everybody?

I have to admit, his first 30 min were blah! But right after, he kicked it up a notch. At Midnight, he stopped the music, Reza got on the mic and did the countdown. Fireworks, fire, clocks on the projector screens, and confetti followed. That was off the hook.

Paul's first song of 2006 was TIMES OF OUR LIVES mixed with For An Angel.

Songs I remember...

DK8 - MURDER WAS THE BASS (I jumped so hard when he played it! Oh man, this was my highlight of the night.)
Renato Cohen vs. Deluxe - Just Kick (Carl Cox Remix)
New Order - Blue Monday
Crush
Time of Our Lives
For An Angel
Underworld - Born Slippy (PVD Remix)
Dogzilla - Without You
PVD - The Other Side
PVD - Buenaventura

I know I'm missing way more songs that I know. I'll post them as I remember!

As soon as PVD was over, I left and headed right over to Avalon to catch the remaining of Sander's set.

Couldn't agree more! JJ fuckin dropped some massive tunes and had the place dancing hard. I wanted to see a bit darker and harder side to PVD and leave the uplifting stuff to Nu Nrg and Markus but he never fails to please.

The night was fun but definately not the best party in the last year. The afterparty that we had was INSANE! We had about 30 people cruise to TAO. 20 of us went in a stretch H2 limo and the other 10 went in a regular limo. It's fat not having to worry about how to get home.

Wow!!...what a night. definitely worth the ride from san diego in the rain!...I went up there for one dj, Paul Van Dyk!, and i was not dissapointed. The house room was pathetic!!!! I dont ever remember hearing dj Reza spin but DAAAAAAMN!!!! who the hell let that guy behind the decks, every track he either trainwrecked or he threw it in at the wrong track, killed it for me so much that i left.

Did anyone see the backstreet boy in the house room?... he had a little vip section behind the speaker but was mostly in the crowd. I went up to him to tell him happy new years, real cool guy.

I've attended the past two Giant Village events and they were alright. This is the first Together As Once I attended and it rocked! TAO is ten times better than Giant Village. The only advantage Giant has is that it's a 21 and up gig (maybe TAO should consider making the VIP area an exclusive 21 and up area instead... just a thought)

I was very impressed with TAO's mainroom. The lighting, fire, visuals, countdown was spectacular! After the countdown, the mainroom remained bright for a short while; I guess to let all the people meet and greet each other with ease. And then the lights went down and the crowd got loud... another four hours of partying!

I was there from the very beginning. I checked out sets by Swedish, Nu NRG, PVD, and Reza and they all rocked! Reza dropped the sweetest house tracks! First time I've heard Reza and will definitely check him out again. This was one of the best events I've ever attended.

Oh yeah, thanks for the pics/videos DJ Woody. I literally felt chills when I saw the videos

They usually have a 21+ arena. I'm not sure why they didn't do it this year.
