Yeah, I was dissapointed in the way that nobody really cared about the DJ, and like you said Malek...nobody stole the show! I didn't find any one of the DJs played anything truly memorable, or ever really had the crowd extremely pumped at any point...Virtually NO interaction between the DJs and the crowd, which made for a different kind of vibe I'm not used to.

Oakenfold was what I expected him to be, so I didn't really enjoy his set too much except for a few tracks. U2 - New Years Day remix was a good call for 12 oclock! Then fkin 4 hours of Franco Fabi? Gimme a break...his shit was very repetitive and not very interesting.

I had very high expectations of Lawler also and I've gotta say he really dissapointed me! Not really any tracks that stood out from his set, or any that really got the crowd into it...It just seemed like the same tribal beat again and again. He added a couple of nice electro house tracks in there but nothing that impressive...He had such an impact on me that it took me 45 minutes to realize that he'd left the booth and Lippe was on.

I'd never heard Lippe before, and he pleasantly surprised me! He was pretty good, but still...no monster tracks!

Not to sound like a complete party pooper, I did have fun chilling there with my friends and Marcus and his crew. Also got to see Jenn, Epi, Malek, Orko, some TOTAs Jenn introduced me to, and that's about all I can remember.

Nothing beats sitting at the top of the reds and looking down on the madness below! The floor was PACKED! Every time I looked down on the party, it amazed me. The setup was AMAZING.

Overall good party....it was just missing the VIBE, if you know what I mean.

People are always sociable in the language both parties know... plus lets not start the "starting conversation on the dance floor" discussion, because it'll change my mood from "tired happy" to "tired mad" .

I don't expect people to speak English just because I speak it.
I just didn't expect language to be such a barrier because Montreal is always advertised as a bi-lingual city when in fact, English is very limited for many of those I encounter in the club scene here. I'm not saying its a bad thing, its just been more difficult for me adn my gf to assimilate. Perhaps people do approach my gf and myself the same frequency as we used to in Toronto, but I think the conversation gets cut off after a few sentences because of our non-understanding of the French language and most peoples' limited understanding of English. Hence I forget we were even approached in the first place. Sorry if I offended anyone.

i just wanted to add something, big parties like celebration bring much more people from the distant suburbs than the city itself... hence the less bilingual people. Its really evident, i go out alot to cover parties, and its so obvious at parties like celebration where i approach people in english sometimes and don't get an answer, then i switch to french. I have that luxury

hey did anyone notice lawler played for like 2 hours thats basically wut i paid 102 $ for to hear lawler spin for 5 hours. i wouldnt pay this price again for a 514/ godskicthcen party unless theres atleast 3 international headliners on the bill and there was alot of sketch compared to last year and the ppl this year also seemed much younger(im not too old myself but i did notice it to be alot of a younger crowd)back to the sketch factor i saw one of the worst things in my life while leaving a girl or possibly boy , they looked small just sitting on there ass on the dancefloor infront of the booth with a hood on just tapping his or hers glowsticks against the ground repeadtly. BUt this party wasnt all bad the music had a nice flow but no real ear catching songs like last year but u can tell there was more money put into the lites and decorations. it also seemed like the dance floor was possibly abit smaller then last year, and it was really packed for a good 5-6 hours. all in all id have to sya last year was better but godskitchen does seem like they will be hhere for a while

Lawler didn't play for only 2 hours?

I got there around 3:30-4 and he was on and he was still on when I left at 7.

official time when lawler left is 7:15... sadly i missed him completly he was scheduled till 8:30-9:00 but he just left the booth in a rush...

thats fucking bullshit, second time he does that to his montreal fans... i'm surprised no more people noticed this.

Yeah, now I'm wondering why I didn't go to Aria for what was probably a better vibe, half the price and musically 10x better...
