The bus station is actually pretty close to Ruby Skye if your bus ends at the Transbay Bus Terminal. You could actually take MUNI (SF's bus system) to Ruby Skye right from Transbay. Just go to where the MUNI buses are (right outside the main building), catch the 38 Geary line and it will drop you off on the corner of Geary & Mason. Ruby Skye is 1/2 block up Mason between Geary St and Post St. Bus ride should be only about 10 minutes max. Maybe closer to 5, just depends on how the street lights go.
Or if you want, catch a taxi cab from transbay and you'd be at Ruby Skye in just a few minutes. Would only cost you probably $5 or $6. This is what I'd personally do.

BTW, if you pre-order I recommend you choose to print out your tickets. I know it's $1.25 to do it, but if you print your tickets out you can avoid in possible long will call lines and just go up to the security rope, show your printed out tickets and ID and get in....skip the whole line! Love that about Ruby Skye and Ticketweb. Will call is pretty quick at Ruby Skye, though. They handle it much faster than most places I know. 
I need to make it a mission not to attach myself to the stage all night. Need to get around and mingle a bit.
