I dont think its the team that FIFA is worried about ... its the fans ... given that iran just restarted nuclear production and said it would refuse permission to UN inspectors, i can see why ppl are a little apprehensive about having their fans come in ... even though they prolly come to watch some football, there will definately have to be provisions made for extra security and the like ... it will be a shame if they get banned though.. i have my money on them being the surprise package of the tournament along with ukraine

Still sucks. I still think they're coming too watch the football. Wouldn't think they will do anything worse than the European fans..

This is non-sense, would become a dangerous precedent. I don't think any team has been blocked from the World Cup before due to politics?

This is stupid; Iran allows black people from america to play basketball in Iran. I watched a story about it on the BBC. Their professional players of course and the Americans enjoy the country they are in. Their is no need for threats to be made of banning Iran from the WC the Iranian government wouldn't ban American players from playing b-ball in the country.

WC have been cancelled due to war. If Iran continue at their rate, I wouldn't be suprised to see them given the knock. At the end of the day, its the government that represents the people of the nation. They're the ones who voted for him.

On second thought, Iran should be banned from the WC. That way Mexico will only have to face two opponents.
