I realy dont undertand you.
Its saying you can use an external mixer (a real dj mixer) to mix the mp3s from the computer.
You can mix the turntbales together using the laptop but it realy is not worth it. You need to buy phono preamps and external soundcards and a program to mix the inputs and eq them.

sounds like a neat idea..

Id could go for this, but it would be anightmare to set up at a club everytime.. fs2 is bad enough..

Im SURE its possible.. Id check out some digital soundboard type things.. while it may not be practical with traktor, im sure there is an app which could do it.

apparently it IS possible...got this from the hercules website...

19. Can I connect a vinyl turntable to Hercules DJ Console to mix my vinyl records? [ top ]

With the bundled software, you cannot mix an analog source on the DJ Console in real time. In order to work with music from vinyl records, you must first digitize the music on your PC before you can mix it on your DJ Console. You cannot simply connect a turntable directly to your DJ Console’s Line input to digitize vinyl records on your PC, since the audio output on turntables is too low (phono level instead of line level) to be captured properly. To digitize your records, you must either:

Connect your turntable to your amplifier, connect the amplifier’s headphone output to the DJ Console’s Line input, and then record your vinyl onto your PC.
If you need a more compact solution, you can use a pocket-sized phono preamplifier to connect your turntable to your DJ Console:
Cheap solutions, below €50, can be purchased from manufactures such as Hama.
Higher-end solutions, below €100, as ProJect Phono Box or NAD PP-2.
Once your vinyl music has been digitized on your PC, you can then use the audio files with all your music software.

To mix in real time with an analog vinyl turntable, you will need the Pro version of Virtual DJ (not bundled with the DJ Console) to synchronize DJ Console file playback with the Line input (via a phono preamp): the vinyl turntable will not be recorded on the DJ Console, which will simply analyze its BPM to synchronize DJ Console virtual mixing with the analog turntable.

i know what you're trying to do

re-read my last post and i'll try explain a little clearer

it's possible to hook your TTs into your laptop to use your laptop as a mixer
but first you have to get an outboard soundcard that has 2 phono preamps (and you'll most likely need the soundcard to have multitrack capabilities so you're not trying to send 2 stereo channels of info into 1 input), then get mixer software that can handle processing the audio realtime (you'll more than likely have latency issues)
traktor won't cut it, you can't select an external source (like a TT or CDJ) to mix in with your MP3s

so it's possible, just not plausable

so like i said in my first post, get TTs with an external dj mixer then you can disable the internal traktor mixer and have the traktor decks hooked into your dj mixer on line inputs

your laptop should be used as an audio source or recorder

the way you want to go about it is essentially backwards and will do nothing but frustrate you if you somehow manage to get it working

i mix using both hands almost all the time, unless you have a dual mouse setup there's no way a software mixer will perform anywhere near an external mixer

I found tracktor frustrating for that reason but I can mix better on tracktor than on turntables. I binded a load of keys on my keyboard to functions within traktor. Sorta dedicated one side of the keyboard to A deck, the other side for B and the keypad for the mixer. It kinda works but not very good when you wanna flick the eq's/faders

At the moment I use my laptop with tracktor to play mp3's through my mixer. Still use a keyboard and the same key config. Works fine for me and seems responsive and its one reason ive not bothered to buy a cdj just yet...

If your going to buy those preamps and soundcards and all the crap you need to do this it shure is a big waist of money that like tony has been saying will only cause you headaches and stress.
