The Sony MDR-V700DJ's have okay sound quality, probably better than a lot of what you have heard, but, the fact is, they go for $100-$150. You can get better sounding non-dj headphones for $30:

And better sounding DJ headphones without the side swivel feature, and more durability, but all the other good features of the V700DJ's for $60:

and DJ headphones with *ALL* the good features of the V700DJ's, plus more durability, and a LOT more sound quality, for the same price as the V700DJ's:

So, you see, they are a pretty bad buy, considering...

No, the Sony MDR-V6 is not the Sony MDR-V600. The Sony MDR-V600 is the second the worst bang for your buck value in the headphone kingdom. The only things that tops it for being the worste headphone-related waste of money are those headphones that Bose makes, which cost more and sound worse. Also the MDR-V600 have no bass, whereas the MDR-V6 has plenty.
Hey, raptor, at home, how much are you against using full sized headphones?
Headphones that block out no outside noise?
Headphones that are not good for *one eared* monitoring?
Headphones that cannot be driven from a portable cd player, minidisk player, or pc sound card, or any other gutless source?
