2 ears hearing both channels in each ear. I have no idea how you people do the one ear thing, I cannot do this at all.

i've never really used the 2 ear method to mix. i use the split cue function (with both cups) to level out both tracks but from there its always one ear. in the house i use one ear with cue and master playing but when i play out i find i have to use just the cue track as not all mixers have a pan feature between cue/master

Oh thats what I meant, well kinda...mixers like the djm 500 yea I understand don't have that feature, but most that I play on do and for cdjs usually I can just keep pushing the play/cue button and hear it in my cans instantly if it hit the right phrase. With vinyl it seems that I need to know the rate that I am holding the vinyl back and forth so I need to hear just the cued track in 1 cup and hear the master from the monitors, only once that is done I proceed with mixing in both cans.

Split cue, only because I'm using my PC speakers as monitors. Don't get me wrong, they sound incredible, but they just don't work well as monitors.

One ear cue track only. For me its the quickest most accurate way to mix. I don't need to drop my headphones to listen to the monitors because I am already listening to them while I'm making sure the track I'm mixing in is locked. Keep your hand on the pitch fader or the the jogwheel/bend buttons.

To tell you the truth I really did have to force myself to go one cup cue from two cup stereo, and it was like pulling nails, but now I am very thankful.

Always 2 cup cueing, sometimes in combination with split function. To me it is the most accurate way of mixing especially when the monitors are crap.

both ears in the headphones for me, because my monitors are VERY VERY bad, i should get new ones probably and try out the one ear monitoring properly.

I start with One ear cueing, I roughly beatmatch the tracks as quick as i can. After that i put the other cup on and finetune the pitch (cue and master blended).

Both channels in both cans most the time, mainly because at home I tend to have to keep it quiet so I solve the issue by not even having my monitors turned on.

In a club I use a combination of both channels in both ears, one on one off, etc depending on how good the monitors are, how it all sounds and what I'm doing.

i must admit that you can hear the beats more clearly swinging if they are out with your headphones on.
