But if u want to expand that PC, or get a new one, that PSU wont cut it.

U have tried a fresh install of windows to make sure MS isnt at fault?

no i havent tried.. omg, cant be arsed to install everything again 8I

u could (if u had about 10 gig to spare) make a new partition and install XP again on a dual boot and see how stable it is, then just format it and merge the free space back into your existing partition...?

my pc did that when i had only 300ps...now i got 450

well, come to think of it, it reacts the very same way it does when a fuse pops or the power goes, eg. i have to turn off the powerbutton. pull out the chord, plug in again, turn on button, before i can push the power button in front...

so what i am looking at now is;

Tagan i-Xeye 420W
Thermaltake Silent Purepower 460W
Tagan Easycon 430W

anybody have any comments on these psu's?

Switch up the ram chips so that only one of the 512s are in there. See if the problem goes away. I have found that most people that have computer restart problems have bad ram. The power-supply is also an option but before you go out and buy a new one play with the ram.
