Be Cool!

-The kick and highats get a little repedative but thats probably there for mixing, also they are nicely eq'd and well made.

-The synth that comes in, possibly a bass, not sure. Its very yummy.

-The pads are kickass, giving a really cool feel to the song.

-The progression you get going on, is nice.

-The plucked synth you added after the break is beautiful, nice job on that.

-Piano, beautiful. Not much to say about that. -EDIT- As I listen, it could very well be something piano like, a high guitar, not sure. Sorry if I'm mistaken.

-Second break, pretty sweet stuff... I'm still dying for a better progression though. Getting kinda repedative.

-Uplifting yes, I enjoy it alot.

-The new percs you slap in before the song, are really nice.

Great job man! I love this track, a definate listen!

Check out Midnight Heights if you would, please.

-William

You said yourself that this track is simple and repetitive, and I'm not going to disagree. But that's to be expected if this is indeed your first production, and I can't criticise you for that when my own first production was about as complicated.

In future, don't be afraid to crank up the bass! And instead of attempting to match an established artist's sound as closely as possible, like a lot of amateur producers, seek to develop your own style. That's not directed specifically at you, it's just general advice that I would share with any fledgling producer.

Getting back to the track, it's main downfall is that it doesn't really amount to anything before it ends. I don't mean that you should shoehorn in some big riff madness, rather that you should look to create a main melody with a bit of weight behind it. Then repetition should be less of a problem (though having the bassline constantly alternate between two notes was always going to result in an uphill struggle).

big sounding kick
interesting percs aswell. the single open cymbal is a bit out of place.

bass sounds good and clean. and the notation is lush! i love the pad that plays with the bass.. oh it lush. haunting and emotional!

plucked harp sounds nice but im sure something else would work more and be less generic.

this is so clean.

break: not as good as it could be. maybe more epic with a slight bassline varation that carries into the main part? i mean at the exact 3:05 you could have made the bass note go lower and add another bass note into the equasion.

good work.

I pretty much lost the ability to produce. I don't think anyone really misses me.

thanks man! i'm kinda surprised many of you thought the sound and mixdown is clean. yeah, break is kinda empty but i'll work on that in my future productins.

cheers

This is so true, many beginners struggle to imitate an already established producer sound, and for such, they have it harder than trying to develope their own style, however, is always good to listen to pro tracks to train your ear and laern a thing or two from them.

I see you getting signed in the future man, just keep practicing, don't ever give up, pretty much what had to be said was said so, I'd go with the advice of my fellow members here, they have helped me a lot, and so this should help you as well.

Cheers
