+1!! (fucking ch00n.)

(Sometimes artists seem "better" when you first hear them, they they slowly fade.. this may not be the case for you (or me for that matter, as i find myself saying similar things). Everyone evolves, but Holden doesn't appear to be the type of artist who deteriorates. I believe he's the type of guy doing what he wants to do, playing what he wants to play, pushing his personal envelope as far as he can - unfortunately it may not always suit our tastes.

James Holden is one of the few DJ's left that I can actually say I'm still interested in hearing. Far too many DJ's are playing the same stale, plodding dance music that every other DJ plays - you wouldn't know one from the other. James has his own style and he usually surprises you with his track selection which is rare nowadays. He is one of the few that still has a future career in electronic music.

He plays fluffy, Areal-style minimal tech-house. Quite boring.

It's weird though, 'cuz his new mixed CD seems to break off completely from the usual artists/labels. So I am looking forward to that one.

Cant wait to see him again without the awful James Lavelle. And yes his mixing is sometimes off, but when its on there are few that can match him.
