rofl @ Stuart Pearce!!!

You cannot be serious!! errr experience? You could put a donkey in charge of man city with that amount of money and nice staduim and still stay in the premiership.

Anyone who has prooved themselves at the highest level would do it for me.

I saw somewhere that Scolari was out of contract after the world cup. He would be the most ideal candidate.

He knows the English national team inside out, how else did he knock them out of two consecutive tournaments with two different teams?

I dont want Mclaren to take it. Hes become abit of a wet kipper at the minute.

Curbishly i think is good, just worried by his ability to have Charlton occupy every position in the premiership between 2nd and 16th on a regular basis - u never know where u stand with Charlton.

said it once, will say it again, Big Sam. People who think we're just a long ball team don't have a clue how much hard work he has put in to get us where we are, a lot of it is jealousy from teams who can't do what he has, but how on earth can a team with jay jay okocha, fernando hierro, Diouf, Djorkaeff etc amongst it's players in the last couple of years be a long ball team. Sure we're direct at times, he plays to the strengths of the players he puts out, gerrard, beckham, lampard etc all hit long passes, the word is 'pass' and that's what we do. big sam would be a fucking revelation, and i'd bet anyone here he'd be great

As for Allardyne if you want a guy who's used to the pressure of pleasing a whopping 25,000 fans a week as your manager.

And yet don't even consider someone who's put both Barca and Liverpool out of competions and narrowly got beaten by Mourinho's Porto in the final of a european cup final, and pleased 60,000 fans week on week for years. Go for it.

From a Middlesbrough fan's prospective, I'd love to see McClaren leave us and take up the National team post. He's tactially inept, and a very poor man to man manager.

To be honest, there aren't any English manager's that are worthy to manage the English national side.

I'd look towards Guus Hiddink, maybe Filipe Scolari ... and a long shot, Andy Gray.

I'd like to see Curbishley in the job. Well, I think O'Neill would be quality, but Bishy is a more likely option I think.

O'Neill for Charlton then!
