An AV connetion works diifferently to an audio connetion.
if you have a playstation or any other dvd/video player, you'll know there are three plugs, red,black, and yellow.
There are two plugs for stereo (B & R) and one for video (Y).
Not sure on the whole tech specs but it won't work.
Try plugin the playstation etc into your mixer - yellow cord - and see what it does.

Exactly. If you're talking about the RCA's you could hook up the red and white and be able to mix the audio from the video but there is no yellow for the video.

video signals are different to audio signals, they include timings and stuff, you cant just super-impose one video signal on another like you can with analog audio

Yup, and if you think about what happens when you use faders, you're adjusting the volume/strength of the sound. If you did that with a video signal, it would just send a weak signal which would make the signal harder to pick up on the monitor/tv. It would probably just get staticy until the signal goes out, not an actual fade out if you used the fader to fade it out.
