well, how about the DJM-800?

according to the description, every single button/knob/fader is assignable. at $1500, i guess its competition for this.

If I can get my head round ableton then I'm definately making this my next buy. Looks so good.

the XONE:3D was released almost a year ago, but they are still woking the bugs out. They had a few prototypes at the NAMM show, but they still weren't working 100%. It's a sweet mixer, but lets hope they work the bugs out soon!

The MIDI on the DJM-800 seems a bit more of a gimmick..a last minute add-on just for marketing purposes. Almost each knob/fader will transmit MIDI, but thats about it. You can't really re-map the mixer, and it only has 61 MIDI controls. The ECLER NUO4 on the other hand, has 89, and is half the price. The XONE:3D has I think 110. So the DJM will be a good mixer, but as a true MIDI controller, its not up to snuff with real MIDI mixers IMHO

yeah its basically a xone :92 (more or less, im not saying it does everything a 92 does) but with the built in Midi controller. Midi can be used on almost every sofware sequencer and soft synth out there. it can also be used to control hardware synths and DJ FX boxes. Im not really diggin this particular mixer. Id rather buy a :92 and a UC-33e. but its a cool idea to integrate the audio and software side of it like this.

as is, the 3D will not mix video, but that doesnt mean you cant assign the midi to a hard or soft video mixer and do it.

I wish A&H would release standalone midi controllers to hook up to my 92. The midi controls on the 3D look better, and more useable, than anything else out there. I just wish they weren't attached to a mixer!
