An excellent night...especially because it wasn't too packed (I've seen it worse) and the pass I got from Tiesto still worked - kewl!

He played a lot of good tunes and I didn't think any part of his set was boring. Hearing Heaven Scent was cool - I can't remember the last time I heard it at a club.

I missed the meetup at 1AM but met Swamper & TranceXtacy later on. It was nice to meet you guys...hopefully I'll see a lot more TAs at Ferry Corsten. As always, it was nice shooting the sh*t with you Malice...

Had to take off after Mark Oliver came on - I wasn't liking it. lates

Well I thought that the night went pretty well. The lineups were tolerable, free passes still worked, number of people was tolerable, crowd mix seemed decent, lighting changes looked good, & the sound seemed about the same as usual.

Mark Oliver put down a decent opening set. Nothing really surprising but it did it's job and kept me moving until Ornadel came on. I chilled in the Acid Lounge for a bit but didn't know who the TA's were when I was there. (That is if there were any at that time) After 20 mins or so I had to leave because it was too freakin' hot & sweaty in there. Ornadel laid down a ton of nice tracks. I'm not too good with names but I know I've heard a bunch of them in the Corsten sets from Dance Dept & Godskitchen. The set flowed really nice, had some good breaks and kept the energy level high. I'll definitely see him next time he comes back to T.O. Later...

btw... Nice to meet you Swamper... Keep up the great work.

Its good to see that most of you guys had a great time. I wish I could have been there, but stupid work got in the way.

I cant wait till Corsten, Purple Heaven, AVB, and mostly WG.
Surely I'll see everyone in those events.

A Way of Life

I was expecting Guy Ornadel to put on a pretty decent show, but he exceeded my expectations. The night started of in the right direction for me, as I acquired a free ticket while waiting in line. When I finally got inside, Mark Oliver played just the right blend to keep me going until Ornadel made his presence know. When Ornadel finally came on, it became very apparent, even though he was not introduced. The mood of the club suddenly began to elevate, and the crowd energy was felt with a strong presence.
I really enjoyed the track selection as it was reminiscent of a crossbreed between AVB, and Mauro Picotto. He played a nice mixture of uplifting tracks with plenty of vocals, along with some hard hitting tunes that made the crowd go in a frenzy. It was nice to hear some old favorites, along with many novel tracks. I still can't believe that I actually heard "Children" in a club. That is one of the tracks which helped to sway me away from techno to a more mellower form of trance. As someone mentioned here earlier, I too believe that Ornadel finished his set, and was introduced about 30 min later. It was hard to decipher as the two of them stood side by side in front of the decks.
Finally, no party review would be complete with out sending shouts out to the peeps who made their presence known. DieTcocaine, it was a pleasure as always (you really helped to make Igor's night a blast, now he is a fully fledged member of this hedonistic sub-culture). Swamper, great chatting with you (too bad both of our minds were blank as far as track titles were concerned). Articboy, what an awesome surprise you made by showing up (no after party for you? I guess old age is catching up with you, you know what the say about the gradual decline of physiological functions after 30). LOL Also, nice running into you guys (Malice, Heatscore, KevinExcite, and Hansolo). See all of you guys at Ferry Corsten.

Bizz, there's no need to get upset or defensive, I won't. I thought the wording of my statement made it clear that stereotypes are generally not welcome by me, but in case it wasn't clear enough, here's some explanations:

I was clearly referring to those Asians who were there who WERE arrogant, not to all Asians who were there. In other words, I was saying that there were many arrogant people there, most of whom were Asian. I did NOT say that they were arrogant BECAUSE they were Asian. I usually don't let myself fall into the political correctness dominating our society by providing a disclaimer with each statement I make, just so people don't think I'm racist. I know I'm not racist, period, hence I don't feel the need to be defensive about my statements by making disclaimers. I'm Iranian in background myself, and have myself been the subject of racism, hence I know what it's like. If any of you made a statement saying you went to a club in Yorkville and it happened to be full of Iranians and many of them were snobby, I wouldn't get defensive as you'd probably be right. Not to take away from the fact that there are a lot of very cool Iranians as well, and in other venues they might be the majority. I know I'm not snobby, so it won't bother me at all. Get my drift?

It does bother me that anytime someone in these forums says anything that in any way mentions a race, suddenly people get upset and start claiming "steretype" or "prejudice". Racism is a belief that one race is inherently inferior to another in some way. Simply acknowledging differences between races is not racism in my opinion. In fact, I believe that we propagate more ignorance (and hence racism) by trying to shut people up and disallow dialogue about our differences.

Despite all this, my apologies if my statement upset you. I promise to make it up to you by providing entertainment if we meet at the next party. (That's if you consider a mad man dancing and injuring people within 5 m radius entertainment, LOL)

No, no.. no need to apologize - I understood you meant no harm (you just claimed that the usual crowd was there). I just wanted to steer myself as far away as possible from that image and keep everyone's mind open. I definitely dislike those people as much as anyone else..

What a good night it was, minus the ever growing lousiness of Mark "I need a better track selection" Oliver. Guy Ornadel was great and did alot better then i expected him to... not to mention, shocked me when he started spinning the real hard tracks ... one i believe by DJ Vortex - Incomming (arome remix)... (might be a different artist that does the track but the track name and remix part is right) Which was one of the songs that made my night.
I haven't been in the Guv since Summer, it seems so much more different, has anyone noticed how uncheerful the crowd has become, what ever happend to Tune??? It was cool seeing some of you again (TrancExtasy, Swamper and Heatscore). Now let's get ready for Ferry Corsten!!!

damn damn damn...i missed this great party again cause i was flat up broke !!! Oh well...hopefully i'll be good to go to system for the first time for Tilt and Quivver....damnit i need a job cause this year is already starting to look good.
