Since you mentioned the Pet Shop Boys, there is a group called the West End Girls out, and they will soon have an album released with all Pet Shop Boys covers. I read it on the PSB website, apparently the producer of the West End Girls is a big fan.

Not really. More like possibly even more influential over the past 10 years. I know three Kraftwerk tribute albums after 1995, and how many are there before that? Electro is going strong, which is as influenced by Kraftwerk now as it ever was in the 80's, possibly more. But even Coldplay samples Kraftwerk now.

Hardly any of these names have done much in the last decade. Bearing in mind that the last decade started in 1996...

Daft Punk did reinvent house.
The Prodigy kick-started electronica's mainstream invasion.

I also hear that Vitalic were pretty important.

Daft Punk, hands down. There popularity is well deserved. And yes, homework as an album is in a league of it's own. Still with almost 10 years under it's belt, untouchable is the only word to describe it *starts listening to "Alive", dies*.

Chemical Brothers is also way up there.

Sadly, I haven't heard a trance producer yet that has set themselves up there in the elite category to me...
