yes ive been pissed off with total recorder's performance, you have to have insane amounts of RAM or else from like 50 min on you'll have skipping, and by the time you get to your last track, it'll skip once every 8 seconds.

so where can we get goldwave or soundforge fellas?
thanx

you can get soundforge from sonicfoundry.com
it costs over $300 USD, but... if you download the demo version, it isn't that hard to find the crack.

I looked into recording directly into my pc and after all my research I came to the conclusion that the technology wasn't reliable enough yet unless you have Big Blue or some other supercomputer. Point being, what if you had the perfect demo only to find out there were gaps in your set due to your screensaver kicking in or some unexplainable error.

So I went the hardware route. I did some research and ended up buying the <SONY RCD-W1>

It is a cd player/burner. Record right into that sucker and have a quick digital version of your set. Use a cdr-w and reuse the cd up to 5 times. Still havindg doubts? You can also insert track numbers while mixing with the push of a button. I am talking about making your own professional grade comp albums with this piece of equipment.

Plus you get an extra cd player for your home stereo and this will always play burned cd's.

I can't say enough about this cd recorder/burner. If you are smart and live Near a "Best buys" go get it there, sign up for a best buys card, and get it interest free for a year.

i used total recorder to record a 75 minute mix by my friend and it worked perfectly... i used cd wave for the cue sheet (outstanding prog, highly recommended). i have a 1ghz processer with 256mb of ram, so its not exactly a supercomputer im running on....
