Going out for the music stopped when people started facing the DJ.

So its nothing new.

Its probaly just a ploy for Ishkur to sell a few more T-Shirts.

What i find funny is that most people who use the term raver werent around during that time.
Everyone who went to wharehouse parties at secret locations and would hack up black dust the next day early to mid 90's style raise their hand.
*raises hand*

what we have today is anything but that....embrace it, it means the scene has grown and cheesy dj's like Tiesto or not its for the better.
You are not a raver because you bought glowsticks and took a pill.
the music is accessible to everyone, it was most certainly not before...

agree... to the tiesto bashers... we know, he is not the best but hes not horrible... IMO and many others, He is really good... but just like every dj, he has his highs and his lows... I really dont like it when people bash dj's... any dj... many people think its all turned into a big contest of who the coolest is... and well i dont care... i like who i like, you like who you like... sure a little pointing out the flaws is good but... it gets carried away... imo...

so let me get this straight. the fact that a DJ is performing somewhere someplace is taking away all the pleasure out of the experience?

if you want to enjoy the music, you will have enjoyed it whomever is headlining whichever event.

it's like any party. you and your friends would be there for the sole purpose of having fun and enjoying yourselves. why would you let the guy who is playing the music deter you from individual happiness?

god damn what an elitist attitude...

It isnt our fault you dont go to parties at undisclosed locations any more. I can however assure you that despite the rave act. The spirit lives on.

For instance our parties float around from club to club. They cover all glass with that tint shit that sticks, and put up sound insulation on a specific night... but then next week the same thing happens somewhere different.

Here, when the party would make its way to The Industry it was just as damn good as a rave because it was an old ass 2 story warehouse, and they left it lookin beat up and abandoned. That place kicked ass. But still the party moves

think of me aas an elitist if you want to.I think im more of a realist.
Rave is dead...get over it.
1.the internet(also the main source of edm for most)was not as common and advanced therefore the music wasnt available like it is today.
2.I saw Sasha,Sven Vath,Orbital all at undisclosed locations. If i wanted to see a "big" name(non existent back then...edm wasnt even a speck on the map) i had no choice but to go to raves.Today the larger producers and dj's play in clubs.Back in the day any club that would host these events were promptly shut down.
3.The spirit might live on, but its not the same.People can wear tye dye and try to recreate the free love and hippie movement of the 60's, but they can never get it back.Things come and go through generations...its just the way it is.

Your argument is similar to saying the grunge movement is still alive because you wear ripped flannel shirts...get real.

and lmao at it looked like an old warehouse...esthetics have nothing to do with the term rave.It was a movement.
