last year as i was driving home along 401 east (just a bit west of keele) i saw one retard weaving through the traffic. right when he reached the head of the pack, his car fishtailed and hit a SUV in the lane next to me. i saw the truck swerve and nail the wall a few times before it came to a halt. i immediately pulled over to see if the guy driving the truck was okay. he wasnt responding when i got to him but gained conciousness about 15 seconds later. while my car was parked along the shoulder (on the left side of the express lanes) and i was walking/standing on the shoulder, so many of the cars came so close to hitting us and the police officer as well. it was scary as hell but im glad that i pulled over to help that man. the kid that hit him was intoxicated and tried to lie his way through the statement. if it wasnt for me and another guy that pulled over as witnesses, the man that was the victim could've got screwed.
after everything was said and done, i was finally able to get back on the road to go home. by that time it was past 6am. was so tired but i slept well that night.
the highway is a very dangerous place. you dont realize how fast those cars are going until you are sitting stationary while the cars fly past you.
my condolences and sympathies to the family that lost their 5 year old son.
