It was my first time to see Mini spin, and I've been wanting to see her for a while. I heard she was very electro but Friday night, she was playing more tech-acidy stuff. Either way, she was amazing. So chilled behind the DJ booth, you know, this is another day at the job sorta thing, but the sounds and beats and bass that was coming out of those vinyls were truly, something else. I loved it.
She spun Coincidance like aria_clubber mentioned, and the crowd went NUTS it was the first time I heard that song in an afterhour and what an experience!! Even though I still don't like the vocals that much, I LOVE everything else about the song. Trentemoller is genius.
And then Felix...
He came on with those crazy cool lookin goggles and spun some beautiful vocal tracks in the beginning. I was on the dancefloor, goin NUTS for his shit. It got a bit weird afterward, and throughout his whole set I was mainly sitting down in the VIP lounge area, chillin and listening. He was wasted by the end of the night, so yeah, he fucked up with mixing quite a few noticable times and he was using the Hi-Pass Lo-Pass knobs (thanks to moeva for the lingo) in totally awkward places. But I will say this: I don't think I ever heard such a wide use of edm.
He spun, AT LEAST, 6 tracks that Sven Vath spun in his recent sets (Im thinkin Romania and Amsterdam...) including Extrawelt's Soopertrack :: I just have to say, this was one of my favorite moments..to hear this song in an afterhour..pffffffft : :: Then he spun The Sky Was Pink (Holden Rmx), probably the highlight of his set for me.
The "Other" Songs:
Nirvana - i enjoyed this one, it was pretty cool.
Pink Flyod - this was AMAZING, the shit, I was dancing in the VIP area and I remember Juan and me looking at each other thinkin ' He's spinning this??!?!?!?!?!?'
Manson - too much too much...
The Ladytron song was SICK. When I saw that he wasn't leaving the booth and it was already 8:30, I started thinking maybe they're gonna pull a Mauro on us and have Felix close the night. That would of been crazy. But G'Obrien came on soon enough afterward and the reverse happened. The mixing improved but the tracks didn't, it was way too acid for me. So at the end of the night it was Me Hakim and Juan,
we came back to my place. Azia joined us some hours later..and the whole day was lost in sleep, cigarette smoke and music.
Now it's Sunday and Hakim and Juan just came back with some pizza.

...the pizza smells good, so this review ends now.
